Christianne Stotijn Recital

21 August 2012

Dutch mezzosoprano Christianne Stotijn ranks among the most beautiful song voices of the moment. A while ago, when she was still a "promising talent", she was our guest, but meanwhile her star has soared and she performs on the world's great stages. Needless to say that we are glad and honored to welcome her once again in the castle. She presents us with a special programme of Norwegian and Russian music. Last year her latest CD, Stimme der Sehnsucht, received excellent reviews. With her dark timbre, she knows better than any other singer how to capture the fin-de-siècle melancholy. This recital makes for a perfect prologue to our autumn exhibition. Christianne Stotijn is accompanied by pianist Julius Drake.
