Gaasbeek Castle lies at the heart of an extensive park that was laid out in the seventeenth century. It has both impressive avenues and narrow winding paths. It probably has the tallest beech trees in Belgium. As you walk you will come across several historical buildings: the Chapel of St Gertrude, the baroque pavilion, the neo-gothic barn, the octagonal pavilion and the triumphal arch. The domain also has three large lakes (in one of them you can fish, for more information, call 02 531 01 30).

The park is open everyday from 8 am to 8 pm (from 1st October to 31st March until 6 pm).

The park is managed by the 'Agentschap voor Natuur en Bos' (for mor information, call 02 454 86 33).
